Default Heroes in Tyria/Cantha?

Hello.

I started playing Guild Wars: Nightfall a few months ago, completed the whole campaign with my Paragon, unlocked all heroes etc.

I've recently bought Guild Wars: Factions and I am going to create a Monk. However it is a little bit hard to get a group so I'd like to have some heroes around me. How can I acquire them?

First of all, this should be in the Q&A sections

second, there are no Heros in Faction, Heros are Nightfall only.

Take your monk to elbonia, that'll be the only way to get heroes.

Heroes are exclusive to the Nightfall campaign; i.e. they don't exist in Cantha or Tyria. You can get heroes for your Factions monk, but first you'll have to leave the tutorial island and finish the quest that sends you over to Elona. From there you will receive the first five heroes almost immediately, and also the opportunity to gain Zenmai.

edit: meh, others beat me to it.

You'll have to get to the mainland in factions, and then do the quest to goto elona, then you can get the heroes.

That's not entirely true. There is an assassin hero you can obtain in Factions and there is a necro hero you can obtain in Prophecies.

If you have your Nightfall and Factions on the same account, then you can travel to Kamadan from Kaineng Center (you get the quest from Imperial Guardsman Linro) and do the 1 or 2 quests or whatever, to obtain the first few heroes.

If your accounts are not connected, then the only hero you can obtain is Zenmai (the assassin hero).

Well this is really no good. I mean noob Island is alright with henchies but what about after that?

No, I don't want to go back to Elona and finish the campaign again and then come back to Cantha cause that takes ages and there is no point in it.

Well if that is true, that'd be pretty cool. Koss, Dunkoro, Souske/Jin will do.

Can anyone confirm the quote above please?

Yelp, a trip to the lands of Nightfall is the only way. That's how I gained em for my Prophecies and Factions characters. The henchies work pretty good and PUG groups work (sometimes) on the last Mission off starter island. That's who you'll have to rely on till you get over to Kamadan.

If you have Prophecies you can gain a necro hero and the ele or ranger hero is right when you zone into the docks of Kamadan, you get Koss and two monks right out the gate there too, so it wouldn't take long to build a nice team the paragon takes some work though but you can level them back in Factions fast.

You also get Zhed quick enough that I generally count him in there on the last new character I made. After that it is too long before you can choose Margrid or Master of Whispers, most of mine will not go that far unless there is a longer time span between chapters (I now have 10 - not enough time, though I would like to do so).

But, over all, yes getting those at level 15 now (before you got them at the same level that you did with an elonian character - Koss was level 5) pretty much does it. The rest can be filled out nicely with hench and make the game MUCH easier.

There is also no reason why your Elonian can not complete factions or prophecies if you liked the character. Though there will be no new paragon skills or armor to unlock. But then, if you like the game much chances are you will go the route the rest of us have and have a few characters that get rotated around.

You get 3 heroes almost immediately going to Elona, and once at the Consulte docks you can start the quests to get Zenmai and Olias. They start in Nightfall now, but are finished in Cantha and Tyria and they are nowhere near as quick and simple as they used to be. lol

I forgot that they changed the Olias and Zenmai quests. You are, indeed, correct.

ANet has made some changes to acquiring Heroes.

Gaining Olias, for example, now requires you to get to Elona (Consulate Docks) before being able to get the quest for Olias.

I would not be surprised that Zenmai's acquisition has been changed as well.
